Political parties celebrate Independence Day with patriotic fervour, gaiety
Excelsior CorrespondentJAMMU, Aug 16: The 67th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety by political parties across the Jammu region.In connection with celebration of Independence Day,michael kors factory outlet, State BJP organized a function at City Chowk here in which Party State president, Jugal Kishore along with Leader of BJP Legislative Party, Ashok Khajuria, former State president, Shamsher Singh Manhas and other leaders hoisted the National Flag. Hundreds of Party workers drawn from different parts of the city attended the function.Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that freedom from British rule became possible only after the people from all sections of society participated in the Quit India Movement and a large number of them laid down their lives for this supreme cause.In his speech Ashok Khajuria said that nation is passing through very tough times as the Congress led UPA Government has adopted soft approach towards the anti –national elements as well as Pakistan and China as a result of which the country is not safe today.MLA Jammu West Assembly Constituency and former Union Minister, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta hoisted the National Flag at various places in Jammu West Constituency yesterday. Speaking on the occasion he said the need for peace, harmony and balanced development is all the more in Jammu and Kashmir because of its being under constant attack of theocratic State of Pakistan and this requires increased attention of all the nationalists.He impressed upon all the people to remain vigilant to frustrate the designs of enemy agents, those disturbing peace and separatists as this was in their own interests as well as the larger interests of the nation.He said vision and vigil is needed to protect the hard earned freedom,Michael Kors Purses, especially in a State like J&K where there is no dearth of internal and external threats.National Conference (NC) provincial president, Devender Singh Rana hoisted the National Flag at Party provincial Office Sher-e- Kashmir Bhawan and Indira Chowk here. He reiterated NC’s pledge to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, between various sections of the people and steering the State as a single entity towards the peace, progress and development.Greeting Party workers and functionaries Mr Rana described India as a beautiful garden of colorful flowers. He said this garden will bloom only when nurtured with care and compassion.Mr Rana exhorted the people to close their ranks and fight the elements inimical to peace and unity with their might.The 67th Independence Day was celebrated by the Pradesh Congress Committee throughout the Jammu province and the main function was held at Party Headquarters Shaheedi Chowk here.On the occasion, president DCC, Jammu and Ex MLA Om Chopra hoisted the National Flag. The senior leaders and workers of the Party attended the function. They included Gurmukh Singh former Minister & vice president, PCC, Ravinder Sharma,Michael Kors Outlet, MLC, general secretary and spokesman, Janak Raj Gupta, Kanta Bhan, D S Langeh, Mansa Ram, B B Gupta,michael kors canada, M M Malgar, Ch Sukh Dev and others.On the occasion Mr Chopra recalled the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters and paid rich tributes to them.In connection with celebration of Independence Day, a function was organized at Bakshi Nagar here by PCC secretary, Anil Chopra in which Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand hoisted the National Flag. The function was also attended by NC provincial president Devender Rana. Both Mr Tara Chand and Mr Rana congratulated the people on the occasion of Independence Day.Pradesh Congress Committee,Michael Kors Purses, Jammu West also celebrated Independence Day. On the occasion, National Flag was hoisted by PCC Member and ex Corporator Ward 67 Thakur Uttam Singh Chib at Roop Nagar.Block Congress Committee (BCC), Bishnah celebrated the Independence Day with patriotic fervour yesterday. Working president of the Party, S Kulbir Singh recalled the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters on the occasion.Panun Kashmir (PK) also celebrated the 67th Independence Day with great pomp and show at party headquarters Sarwal. The Party organized Independence Day celebration functions in the far-flung villages of Jabri and Chattairyan in Tangdhar area of Kupwara district of Kashmir Valley.State president of the organization Ishfaq- ul- Rehman Poswal hoisted the National Flag on the occasion. A large number of people including Panchs and Sarpanchs attended the function. Mr Sharma highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters.Congress Seva Dal also celebrated the 67th Independence Day by holding colorful functions at various places in Jammu city. The National Flag was hoisted by Balvinder Singh Sambyal, State chief of Congress Seva Dal J&K.BJP State Secretary Aseem Gupta hoisted Tricolour at Main market Trikuta Nagar and paid glowing tributes to freedom fighters.Senior Congress leader Maheshwar Singh unfurled the National Flag at Paloura and also paid tributes to the martyrs, who laid down their lives for the sake of the nation.Singh in his address asked the people to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood in the society. Hakikat Singh Chib, Bodh Raj, Pawan Kumar Bhagat, Ghar Singh, Rajinder Abrol, Ajit Singh and Pawan Kumar were among others present on the occasion.Share With
